WARNING: It has been brought to our attention that some of our competitors (other resellers) maybe misleading customers by selling them a compatible lamp, whilst the customer thinks they are buying an Original OEM Genuine Lamp. While there is nothing wrong with good quality compatible lamps, we do not agree with misleading customers (often paying too much).
Also, not all compatible lamps are created equal – some use poor quality bulbs that can damage your projector, have lower light output, and can even create a risk of fire. Compatible lamps can also invalidate your projector’s warranty. So being misled can have damaging consequences.
To help protect our customers we have created this area to help you easily distinguish from Original OEM Genuine Lamps and Copy / Compatible Lamps. This way you can make an informed buying decision.
We have created these four tools to help you learn about Compatible Lamps vs. Genuine Lamps:
- Video: Video on OEM and Compatible Lamps with Tips on how to protect yourself. (7min)
- Genuine Lamps Overview: Overview of Genuine Lamps and the problem in the projector lamp industry.
- Genuine Lamps Checklist: A free checklist to determine if the lamp you’re interested in buying is an original OEM lamp or a compatible Lamp.
- Projector Lamp Box / Packaging: A gallery of major lamp manufacturer OEM boxes so you can seeox if the lamp you’ve purchased in an OEM or a compatible.
We hope these tools and information will help you make an informed buying decision. If you have any questions do not hesitate to call or email us.
Please note errors can occur and we advise you to check directly with your supplier to confirm what you are buying.
